The island retreat by Fearon Hay Architects is made from several transparent shoreline structures that are linked by a central courtyard. The island retreat is located on Waiheke Island in New Zealand, and the structure resembles a canopy with its overhanging roof and glass facade.

This home is made from massive concrete pillars and floor-to-ceiling glass windows that reveal panoramic views of the rolling hills and Matiatia Bay. On one side of the house is a garden, and on the other side are numerous solar panels.
