Groupon recently introduced 'Gnome,' an iPad POS system that will help customers redeem Groupon offers via Bluetooth and help merchants operate more smoothly.
The point-of-sale system works just like a standard checkout system where transactions can be made with cash, credit and debit cards. It is also capable of issuing hard copies or email receipts much like Square's Square Register. One advantage of Gnome is that it instantly recognizes when a customer enters the store with the Groupon app on their phone, which enables these customers to redeem a purchase without a receipt or even getting out their phone.
Gnome encourages merchants to make more deals available through Groupon and it also offers customer relationship management tools so that business can run better than usual.
