French Street Artist Invader Takes on Brazil With Amazing Effects

Despite enjoying worldwide celebrity, the French street artist known as Invader has managed to avoid direct media attention and maintain complete anonymity. What we do know, however, is that he most recently 'invaded' Sao Paolo and distributed maps on where to find his retro creations.

The pieces are part of a new experimental exhibit called 'De Dentro e De Fora' (Portugese for "Inside-Out") that explores the city's rich history of street art, both indoors and on buildings. In a nutshell, visitors are encouraged to find the beauty of art outside of galleries, on the streets and in other, less-likely places. As part of the exhibit, Invader slapped his familiar mosaics around Sao Paolo's most-traveled spots, exposing the maximum number of pedestrians to the unorthodox art.
