This Lamp Requires Human Contact to Turn On and Off

The seamless integration of smart technology and home design has created a disconnect between people and objects, prompting the designers at 'Nottdesign' to create an interactive dimmer light that needs human contact to be turned on and off.

Dubbed the 'RA' table lamp, this unique home item acts as more of a lever than it does a lamp. To achieve the full effects of the RA's glow, users must crank the handle at a 90-degree angle. To turn the light off, the lever must be pushed toward the ground. Everything in between provides dimming control -- the closer to the top, the brighter the glow.

This interactive dimmer re-imagines the old-fashioned relationship between people and technology, finding a unique balance between the two.
