Erick van Egeraat's Incineration Line is a Roskilde Landmark

Located in the heart of Roskilde, a Danish town just outside of Copenhagen, Incineration Line by Erick van Egeraat is becoming an instant landmark for the small city. The architecture piece is an industrial structure that is given a new spirit at night, thanks to its illuminated facade.

The energy plant boasts a geometric form and perforated facade that boasts circular cut-outs. When lit up at night, these cut-outs shine light through them, creating a dreamlike and starry effect on the structure's exterior planes.

According to architect Erick van Eferaat, Incineration Line is 'transformed into a glowing beacon that is meant to symbolize the energy that is produced within its center'. The building is unlike traditional industrial structures and proves that a trained architectural eye can transform the associations of any design.
