French design and interior studio Dion & Arles created the interior looks of the Il Gattopardo restaurant in London's Mayfair. The inspiration stems from 20th-century Italian designers Carlo Mollino and Gio Ponti. The designers describe the restaurant, explaining "We envisioned Il Gattopardo to be a salon in which you can dine – not just a restaurant."
The team states, "Modernity, heritage and sophistication are the three elements we think together define the Italian sensibility, which we tried to translate into the interiors." The name of the restaurant is Italian for 'leopard' and it means to honor the golden era of mid-century Italian design which is captured throughout five dining spaces in total. It opens up to a main dining room and crudo bar that leads into a dining area and another bar, which reveals the 'salon.'
