Human-Shaped Pools

Artists Icy and Sot Have Installed a Reflective Human-Shaped Pool in Georgia

Brooklyn-based artists Icy and Sot have installed a temporary art piece titled 'Nature's reflection' which provides a contemplative look on humans and their relationship with nature.

Installed in Tbilisi, Georgia, the beautifully simple piece is a human-shaped pool in the middle of a mountainous region which reflects the sky. The pool looks as if a person fell backwards into the ground, leaving behind their silhouetted impression which has since been filled by a small pool of water. In the right light, the pool reflects the sky, imprinting clear blues, or sunset reds onto the water.

The piece was designed to encourage people to take time to appreciate the natural beauty of the world with the hope that it leads to environmentally conscious living. The art piece by Icy and Sot is another representation of artists using their platform to promote a healthier relationship between the human and the natural world.
