The newest addition to the eco-transportation market has been released today with the Hyundai Elec City all-electric bus.
The bus can reach a full charge in just over an hour and can get 350 miles of street driving on a single charge. While this is still a far cry from what Hyundai projected for its eco-bus, the Catalyst E2 from Proterra has a 660kWh capacity, compared to the Elec City's 256kWh battery pack.
The Hyundai Elec City will be the Korean carmaker's first mass-produced, all-electric bus and it is expected to launch in 2018. Hyundai has also announced its intention to improve fuel efficiency for all of its commercial vehicles by up to 30% before 2020.
