Rocky Northern Light Abodes

The Hydraulic Power Station by Stein Harme Architecture is Mystical

The hydraulic power station by Stein Harme Architecture has a multicolored light shining through the glass facade. This building has been created for HelgelandsKraft AS, which is a hydraulic electricity producer in northern Norway.

Planning for this new station began in 2008, and once complete, it will be a functional tourist attraction and power station. This building will produce enough power that could supply 1,600 homes with energy or 30 GWh each year.

This building has been constructed on a site that has rocks left behind by the last ice age's glacier. The design of this building is influenced by the shape of spruce trees, and it has been located on the side of a river on the border of a spruce forest. The beautiful color coming through the glass windows creates a mysterious Northern Light resemblance.
