New York City restaurant El Quinto Pino is now selling Huevos Estrellados in handy to-go bags. Huevos Estrellados is a dish that consists of Spanish fried eggs cut up and mixed with fried potatoes and ham or sausage. While this dish is usually served on a plate, this restaurant has found a way to make the meal more portable.
Alex Raij of El Quinto Pino came up the the ingenious solution for serving Huevos Estrellados after observing Frito pie severed in chip bags. Raij then began serving his own mix of fried eggs, Bonilla a la Vista chips and chorizo in chip bags to give consumers an easier way to enjoy the delicious Spanish dish.
The clever packaging demonstrates just one of the ways restaurants are increasingly catering to consumers who prefer to eat on the go.
