Artist Lenka Clayton asked 100 married couples to each create one brown shoe from household object finds around their homes.
The 'One Brown Shoe' collection of footwear was created by each person in private and only revealed when the shoe was completed. Clayton describes that: "each pair of shoes might be seen as a portrait – of two individuals, of one couple, and of the difference between the two."
The footwear series includes shoes made from animal crackers, nuts, cereal boxes and cigars. Each one is completely unique and offers a strange look into the personalities of the creator and the homes they live in.
