After visiting the building site for Hotel WIND, Team BLDG took inspiration from the surrounding landscape and constructed a design that looked as if it grew organically from the mountainside. According to the Contemporist, "the keyword of forming it should be the air, the earth, the weather and the people on site."
Keeping this in mind, the Japanese architects at Team BLDG proceeded to build Hotel WIND as an organic entity (or at least with this idea driving the overall designs). Three wells were also installed in the hotel for symbolic purposes: one for rain, another for trees and a final well for wind. This was done to connect the building to its surroundings and break down the physical barriers between the interior and exterior of the hotel.
