Mexican architecture firm Taller Héctor Barroso was tasked with creating a contemporary home for siblings in Mexico City. Taking the silhouette of a classic, low-rise apartment building, the structure is designed with reference to modern sensibilities, comfort, and functionality.
Dubbed 'Sierra Mimbres,' the home for siblings spans four-storeys and is meant to accommodate the different needs and desires of three brothers. The "rooms are modern yet cozy, owing to the use of earthy materials, soft textures and views of greenery." Taller Héctor Barroso makes use of non-invasive materials, featuring white concrete, wood, and steel. While the sizeable windows in each apartment reveal breathtaking panoramas, the roof patio upstairs offers a communal ground for the siblings, where they can bond and watch the sunset.
