Ski jumping is one of my favorite Olympic events to watch simply because it is the only sport that gets your adrenaline going as well. When the skier launches off the ramp, it looks as if they're going to take out the entire audience. Though a circumstance like that has never happened before, it would be most likely to take place on the Holmenkollen Ski Jump.
Built by JDS Architects, the Holmenkollen Ski Jump is located in Oslo, Norway, and stands 69 meters high. This may not seem that huge, but if you knew you were about to launch off a ramp from that height you may look at it differently.
The Holmenkollen Ski Jump will be ready for use by February 2011, just in time for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.
