The Social Venture Institute (SVI) at Hollyhock is a learning centre and wellness retreat for "people who are making the world better." This September marks the 17th annual retreat, which brings together social entrepreneurs to network and engage in mentorship opportunities.
The solar powered Hollyhock Centre is located on remote Cortes Island on Canada's west coast and is open year round. Hollyhock offers opportunities for guests to work on personal and professional development, ranging from acquiring new skills in workshops to nurturing relationships over local, organic food. The retreat offers an array of courses, and even has a scholarship programs for those requiring financial assistance.
Hollyhock also offers programs off the island, including the first Social Venture Institute leadership conference in Vancouver this May.
"SVI offers the mission-based entrepreneur an opportunity to share challenges, successes, and experiences with peers in an atmosphere of trust and goodwill," Renewal Partners explains.
"Each attendee brings a commitment of social change to their enterprise, whether a for-profit business or a non-profit organization. Over the years, SVI has provided over 2,300 entrepreneurs the opportunity to strengthen their business skills, network with other social change leaders, and rejuvenate their passion and vision."
