This Christmas season, Walmart worked with augmented reality developer Zappar and marketing partner Advantage Solutions to create an interactive holiday AR experience to enhance in-store visits.
Shoppers who visit brick-and-mortar Walmart stores will be able to partake in fun games through a Christmas Sleigh Ride promotion that transforms the aisles of the retail store into magical winter scenes. In all, there are nine virtual "winer wonderlands" for consumers to discover via the Walmart AR app.
The app also connects consumers to Zapcodes, which connect to sponsored experiences from Clorox, Kellogg's, Pepsi and more, as well as augmented reality mascots like Tony the Tiger and Chester the Cheetah. Additionally, the all-in-one AR app offers games, animations and face filters for taking fun, festive selfies that can easily be shared on social media.
