Hitachi continues to dive into the mind reading business. This time, they've created a cap which reacts to blood flow through the frontal cortex of the brain. When test subjects are asked to do simple calculations, the cap analyzes brain activity and launches a toy train into motion. Once the subject stops calculating, the train stops.
Researchers hope this technology can be used to assist people with disabilities. Down the road they see the technology being used in place of remote controls or computer keyboards, or in the next generation of automobiles.
