When it comes to hi-tech jewelry, a lot of the designs out there are driven by function and they definitely serve as statement pieces, but not the attractive kind. But if you were to look at the wearable tech by San Francisco-based company CuffLinc, you'd probably think "jewelry" before anything else.
The CuffLinc pieces are designed to make tasks easier with the press of a button, such as alerting a specific group of contacts in the case of an emergency. The wearable tech does this with the use of a black tracker that resembles Onyx, which can be interchanged between accessories. The tech-enabled jewelry pieces are water-resistant and hold a charge for about a year.
The jewelry is equipped with Bluetooth and GPS tracking, compatible with a range of Apple products. CuffLink also has plans for Android compatibility in the future.
