Psychedelic Gas Station Designs

The Here After Installation Transformed an Abandoned Gas Station

The Here After installation was created by the graphic designers Craig & Karl, who revamped a gas station to suit the vivid, borderline psychedelic style they have become known for.

The area in which the gas station is located is being redeveloped into a residential neighborhood, and so the designers chose to give the station a retro look inspired by the "retro test cards" that BBC (which was once located in the area) used to air between its shows. The resulting Here After installation reveals a once-used gas station in bright colors, with neon signs and large arrows making up most of the design.

This gas station revamp works to create an artistic center in this newly developing neighborhood that references the area's historic past.
