Heart-Shaped Hammer Heads

This Heart-Shaped Hammer Leaves an Unconventional Imprint

The designer Dov Ganchrow ponders whether the urge to leave a mark on the world is a blessing or a curse in his new design ‘a love/hate thing,’ which features a heart-shaped hammer head that leaves an unconventional imprint.

The hammer was chosen for this project as its a tool that can mend, but also destroy, representing the designer's personal dilemma his impact on the local art scene. The steel head of this hammer has been re-molded into the shape of a heart, so every time it hits something, like a piece of wood, a door or even a tree, it'll leave an elegant heart-shaped 'signature.'

This hammer is on display at the periscope gallery in Tel Aviv.
