The Head-Up Coffin allows those who have passed away to be buried in a different position that may seem a little bit unconventional.
Every human rests differently, and that should not be restricted to the living. The Head-Up Coffin allows the passed away to be tilted slightly upwards, like they are lying in bed reading a book or chatting with a loved one. Designers Rafael Hintersteiner and Johannes Wolfsteiner created the coffin to be entirely biodegradable for the eco-friendly individuals.
Aside from the fastening components, the entire coffin is made of wood. To secure the coffin, an additional piece of wood with a message from a loved one is inserted into it. The minimalist design is suitable for those who loved simplicity as opposed to the materialistic things in life.
