Elevated Wooden Box Homes

Harfargar House is a Raw, Latticed Construction

When homes are isolated in natural environments without any neighbors in their immediate surroundings, they can afford to follow design decisions that wouldn't make sense in a more urban format, and Harfargar House does just that. The Chilean home consists of stacked perpendicular volumes that provide little privacy for those inside, but privacy is irrelevant when there's no one to hide from.

Harfargar House is covered primarily in windows. The upper and lower volumes use wood and steel beams for structural support, but glass is the component most used on the walls in terms of sheer surface area. This gives the home a great view of La Boca, the village in the river valley far below, while having the added benefit of making Harfargar House feel more in tune with the natural environment as a whole.
