DIY Hexagonal Wooden Lamps

This Handmade Wooden Lamp Starts Off as a Simple Cubic Frame

It looks quite complicated to make, but this handmade wooden lamp actually starts off as a simple cubic frame. The creator then builds on this bare skeleton with square wooden fixtures that slightly increase in dimensions. By stacking and affixing differently sized squares around the cube frame, the cube base ends up looking like a hexagonal prism.

This DIY is another brilliant doing of South Korean blogger Hobby Design. But even though the project looks complex, it actually uses similar techniques as arts and crafts with popsicle sticks in elementary school.

Because this lamp is unpainted, its raw wooden appearance gives off an organic feel during the day time. In the dark, the strips of stacked wood emit subtle light through its cracks.
