Created by Hajime Sakamoto, Hajime 33 is a robot that is said to play soccer. I clicked on, enticed by the promise of said Beckham-Bot-blistering free kicks, but was instead introduced to a nonathletic, Gumby-like gadget that could barely hold its posture when the wind blew.
To be fair, Hajime Sakamoto’s creation is a marvel of robotic ingenuity. But come on, don’t promise kickass soccer-playing robots and then give me a moderately interesting Frankenstein wannabe.
