This creative lamp from designer Satoshi Itasaka of Japanese design studio h220430 is inspired by human life.
'The Birth' lamp is made of many bulbs contained within a metal sphere highlighted by multiple cords extending from each bulb's base. The unique light fixture from h220430 studio can either be hung from its cords to act as a chandelier, or placed along its side to act as an unusual but eye-catching table lamp.
The inspiration for the piece was based upon the idea of human life and its place within society. A mixture of loss of life from humanitarian crisis, along with the new reality of creating human life artificially, inspired Itasaka to rethink the idea of life itself. The lamp therefore is based upon the idea of the low-level electric current present within a fertilized egg.
