Guitar-Shaped Agriculture

This Kilometer-Long Guitar Forest is a Touching Tribute to a Lost Love

This amazing guitar forest can be found in the Pampas region of Argentina. The guitar stretches to a kilometer-long, and is by no means a coincidental agricultural fluke. The guitar forest is the creation of Pedro Martin Ureta, the owner of the land. U

reta was crushed when he lost his wife at the tragic age of 25 of a brain aneurysm in 1977. Ureta decided to honor his wife's memory and her love of guitar music with a guitar made entirely of trees that could be seen by passing airplanes. Only now, more than 30 years later, has the massive memorial project truly taken shape. The outline is made of cypress trees and blue eucalyptus trees for the strings. The guitar forest is so large it can be clearly seen via Google maps.

In the ultimate heart-breaking irony, Ureta is terrified of flying and has only seen his beautiful guitar forest in pictures.
