These Greek statues are actually caricatures of Star Wars personalities like Darth Vader and Master Yoda. The bodies of the statues are naked or covered and are based off of the bodies immortalized in the Louvre museum in Paris, France.
In order to get the designs just right, artist Travis Durden took photos of said museum statues and employed a 3D modeler to fashion the galactic heads. Using a retouching program, he blended the bodies from the photos with the 3D head models -- creating images that look like the thematic Greek statues truly exist in marble form.
The final photographs turn out to be both beautiful and comical, with Vader's helmet on top of a chiseled chest with a wavy mane and a Stormtrooper dressed in a toga and focused on an oil painting.
