American designer Stephen Burks worked alongside Bolon and BD Barcelona Design to create a range of furniture entitled 'Grasso.' The Grasso collection is comprised of three pieces -- a lounge chair, a footrest and a barstool. Burk explored the Bolon materials throughout the entire range, using them for several sections of the upholstery. The idea came from the desire to have some sort of physical treatment for the surface of the chair, something that was organic.
With this, Stephen Burks created a new range of textiles to bring elements together within the entire collection. One textile blends Bolon's woven vinyl materials with parts of yarn wool that have been space-dyed—when it is cut, it resembles a hairy visual. This material is seen adorning the back and sides of the leather-crafted lounge chair, and beneath the footrest.
