To encourage more merchants to use its app, the San Francisco-based startup GoPago is now giving away free Motorola Xyboard 10.1 tablets.
GoPago is an app that allows consumers to place mobile orders, for food and other goods, with participating business establishments without having to go through the trouble and inconvenience of waiting in line. For the merchants, GoPago is providing its LIVE mobile payment software, which is already uploaded onto the free tablets that will be given away. The tablets will also include a Verizon 4G connection.
Interestingly, the free tablets will only run the GoPago app and nothing else, says a company rep (but, the whole reason is to get merchants using GoPago without fuss or hassle anyway). According to Mashable, over 100 merchants have signed up so far.
