The Spring 2009 Men's Dior Homme show carries over from the previous women's show, with details that make it suitable for a Gustav Klimt painting. The most notable example in the line designed by Kris Van Assche were sequined gold pants with giant embedded gems in brilliant jewel tones.
To tame them down, the flamboyant trousers were paired with strikingly white basketball shoes and blazers over untucked t-shirts, or another paired with a baggy vest. The casual element of the look makes it an unsuitable match for the women's collection by Dior, the highlights of which can be seen embedded below. A gold trench coat and bronze belts later in the show reinforced the Klimt theme.
The entire show took place in the Paris Observatory, and the stage was decorated in a lunar theme, with photos of the moon adorning the building.
Other highlights of the Dior Spring 2009 collection included shiny, flamingo pink jackets and belts as well as peculiar visors in eye popping colours like hot pink and cobalt blue. They could be likened to a high fashion interpretation of the retro Ray Bans recently popular again, or the Kanye-endorsed Shutter Shades.
