The augmented reality 'Pokemon Go' game has become a phenomenon that's creating tons of business opportunities for brick-and-mortar stores and freelance developers like 28-year-old Jonathan Zarra.
Zarra had early access to Pokemon Go as a beta tester and saw that there was no feature for users to interact with one another inside of the app, so he spotted an opportunity. GoChat is a simple standalone app that allows Pokemon go users to chat with one another and leave notes for other anime monster hunters at in-game locations, creating a sense of community between the many players who are engaged by this AR game.
The free app was downloaded more than 10,000 times on its launch and gained a million users in just five days, putting an extreme amount of strain on the game's servers with its success.
