OlssønBarbieri is a design studio based in Oslo and the practice worked on realizing a glass water bottle for Norwegian mineral water brand Snåsa.
The brief called for mirroring the luxury-focused ethos of the company and producing an ultra-elegant packaging design that will captivate the high-end consumer from the shelf. In reference to contemporary anxieties surrounding packaging and the ominous presence of climate change, OlssønBarbieri developed a glass water bottle that focuses on the need for sustainability and social awareness in the luxury market.
Snåsa's new glass water bottle with an aluminum lid consists of materials that can be easily recycled. In addition, the shape of the vessel and its graphic elements are specifically designed "with reference to local indigenous culture." The two colorways subtly distinguish still from sparkling water.
