The incredibly intricate glass sculptures by Andy Paiko are like none other I have seen. His delicate and yet functional spinning wheel that measures 60" tall is a work of art one would be afraid to touch, let alone spin wool with. However, it is an operative unit - watch in motion in the video shown here.
His astounding collection also includes a 50" glass chair made of 250 parts and includes small bubble compartments to store tiny treasures like coral and rodent skulls as Paiko does. The piece belongs to Conde Nast Publications and is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Paiko’s complex seismograph, for measuring earthquakes, looks as if the most minor tremor would shatter it to pieces and the glass scales are perfectly balanced and ready for weighing something soft, I’m thinking.
