The chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), made a speech in London on September 8th that called for people to reduce their consumption of meat.
According to the panel's findings, the meat industry accounts for 18% of all green house gas emissions, taking into account every aspect of the meat production process, including deforestation, transportation, to the gases emitted by the animals themselves. So if not for the humane consideration to save animals, maybe more people will start turning vegetarian in order to save themselves!
