The limited-edition Gingerbread Dreamhouse sets itself apart from classic gingerbread houses with a design that takes cues from modern Californian architecture. This edible work of art was created by interior designer Kelly Wearstler and pastry chef Mark Tasker from New York restaurant Balthazar and entrepreneur Richard Christiansen from food retailer Flamingo Estate.
The gingerbread house was created to put a contemporary spin on tradition and update the look of the typical gabled cottage. The low-lying structure boasts porthole windows, icing in a checkerboard pattern, stairs and geometric details.
Made entirely from gingerbread and icing, the Gingerbread Dreamhouse can be purchased via Flamingo Estate for $650, and just 100 are available. All of the proceeds from these contemporary gingerbread houses will go towards supporting the Create Structure charity and its disaster relief efforts.
