It is interpreted in a sense that reconnectes the 'ancient Egyptian statues to their original context.' The renovation between the two replaced the 2006 remodeling process by Dante Ferretti. OMA is led by David Gianotten and Andreas Karavanas and they nod to the 17th century with high windows and walls.
Gianotten shares, "The opportunity to design the Gallery of the Kings compelled us to explore how the contemporary museum experience and the historical context of artifacts can coexist through architecture.
