The messages in a funeral home ad are generally something that most people would prefer not to have to think about. Knowing this, the Mount Pleasant Group went about creating a unique commercial for its funeral services. The ad plays off of a current obsession with wearable technology, particularly for the purposes of monitoring health, fitness and overall wellness.
Inspired by the well-known Fitbit, this campaign introduces the 'QuitBit.' Simply put,
the Mount Pleasant Group describes that: "It doesn't time your run. It's for when your time runs out."
Although the product is not real and the company has no plans to bring it into production, the purpose of the campaign and commercial is to use humor to get people talking, thinking and planning for death.
