Yukai Engineering unveiled a comforting cushion at CES 2023 called Fufuly that's designed to pulsate and help people reduce their anxiety levels. The plush pillow offers gentle rhythmical pulses when hugged and it guides the user to take slower, deeper breaths.
The puff-shaped cushion was created in partnership with the University of Tokyo and research based on the "phenomenon of rhythmical synchronization between individuals or between individuals and objects" as they interact with one another.
According to CEO Shunsuke Aoki, "Using the cushion for just 5 minutes can reduce users’ stress levels and make them more alert." In all, there are three operating modes: regular, deep and a third based on breathing techniques for relaxation.
