Designer Robert Stadler has revealed a new fruit-inspired furniture collection called 'OMG-GMO.' The collection was made in collaboration with designer BITOSSI Ceramiche and Carwan Gallery. The reason for this particular theme is to demonstrate the relationship between humans and their environment. Robert Stadler is known for his surrealistic and strangely proportioned design pieces inspired by diverse narratives.
The 'OMG-GMO' collection took two years to create and contains ten handpainted furniture items. The collection consists of functional furniture objects such as end tables, floor lamps, coffee tables, and more. Each furniture piece takes the form of a fruit or vegetable, such as avocados, watermelons, bananas, leeks, butternut squash, and more. A standout furniture item in the collection is the stool that appears like a slice of Japanese rectangular seedless watermelon. The collection will debut at Milan Design Week and is set to be exhibited at Carwan Gallery's flagship location in Piraeus, Greece.
