Uber Committed Free Rides to Those Escaping Domestic Violence

COVID-19 has prompted governments across the globe to enact new new stay-at-home regulations, which reports show has lead to an increase in domestic violence — in an effort to support survivors during these challenging times, Uber has committed to providing 50,000 free rides to shelters and safe spaces as well as more than 45,00 free meals.

Uber has also expanded its relationships with various domestic violence organizations including the Safe Center LI in New York, Femmes Avec in Paris, WESNET in Australia, Nissa Institute for Women’s Development in Johannesburg, YWCA in Canada, among others to support communities during these unprecedented times.
