Instagram-Like Food Studios

Mweb’s Dinnercam Takes Your Food Shots to the Next Level

MWEB is one of South Africa’s largest Internet providers and in an experiment to see how WiFi connectivity is changing public spaces, it set up the ‘Dinnercam,’ where people could snap food shots.

The Dinnercam was set up inside of Mexican restaurant, enabling people to take way more professional looking photos of their food, which they would likely do on their phones anyway. The WiFi-connected Dinnercam is like a real world Instagram combined with a mini photo studio, where you can put your plate and take a picture. However, before you do, there are a number of different light settings to choose from on the Dinnercam, which act just like Instagram filters.

People who take pictures with the Dinnercam and tag their photos with #dinnercam will receive a free Polaroid-like print of the food photo they snapped.
