A successful greek yogurt brand is opening their own food incubator, focusing specifically on food-related startup business they can help scale. Chobani's food innovation lab was created not just in an effort to positively shape the future food industry, but to "help nurture, support and celebrate today's entrepreneurs who have founded young and growing companies inspired by our same beliefs."
The food incubator will be opening in New York City. Unlike other typically tech themed incubators, the food version joins labs like Rutger University's Food Innovation Center.
Chobani will be accepting around ten food startups based on deliciousness, natural ingredients, nutrition and accessibility. The budget for this first round is $2 million. The selected startups will gain access to Chobani resources (such as chefs and business people) as well as mentors, office space and test kitchens.
