Agile Firefighting Drones

The FAROS Drone Quickly Scales Walls to Locate and Assess Fires

The Fireproof Aerial Robot System (FARS) drone is a firefighting drone that is capable of ably and safely scouting the interiors of buildings in order to access and assess fires before firefighters enter the area.

This drone is equipped with a thermal-imaging camera and a special image-processing system that allows it to not just detect fires but also detect people, before transmitting data back to firefighters so that they have maximum information and context before entering the fire-stricken zone. In terms of mobility, the FARS drone is capable of strafing sideways when its path is blocked. It is also fitted with propellers that allow it to push itself until it clears a particular obstacle.

The FARS firefighting drone makes firefighters' jobs easier by allowing them to know where best to focus their efforts, whilst also making their job less dangerous.
