Wireless Fingerprint Systems

This Fingerprint System Conveys You Information From Phone to Device

A group of engineers and scientists working out of the University of Washington have developed what is effectively a wearable fingeprint system that is designed to make it possible for users to have a fingerprint scan conveyed to devices directly. This system would essentially send the singles via WiFi or Bluetooth and requires physical contact, making it that much more difficult for hackers to catch onto the signal.

For example, a user looking to open a lock can touch the doorknob and their fingerprint sensor on their phone, which results in the fingerprint being transmitted from the wearer's body to the device and then to the door without letting anyone else intercept the signal. The system uses low-frequency signals that travel through the body but can't escape through the air.

This wearable fingerpting system is a highly laudable development at a time when people are increasingly wary of their different gadgets being hacked into.
