Taiwanese start-up Titus&Wayne recently introduced its filter-free air purifier Luft Qi on Indiegogo as a compact device to remove mold, bacteria, viruses, toxic chemicals and other airborne pollutants with nanotechnology.
The compact air purifier is about the size and shape of a canned beverage and may be plugged into a USB port to activate the device, which boasts 360-degree air intake and a patented nano-reactor. Although there are many purifiers powered by HEPA filters, Titus&Wayne has found that these filters have a tendency to trap bacteria and mold, as well as harvest microorganisms. In place of a filter, Titus&Wayne co-founder Titus Chang describes that Luft Qi "utilizes the latest UV LED technology together with nano-photocatalyst through an IP protected reaction chamber" to provide ongoing air cleaning from every angle.
Titus&Wayne has already surpassed its initial crowdfunding goals for Luft Qi by 322% with more than a dozen days left on its campaign.
