The Fibulae Installation by Marc Fornes resembles gilded goo. The architect behind THEVERYMANY design studio has created this dynamic art piece for jewellery designer Irene Neuwirth’s NYC shop that is using it to display its ornate products.
Inspired and modeled after an oversized broach, this alluring and interactive sculptural piece is made from 7,000 polished aluminum parts. The designer cut and intertwined countless metal pieces and tubes, constructing them to resemble an embroidered accessory piece.
In addition to its distinctive design, this art installation features vivid lighting that reflects the sculpture’s aluminium structure, giving it the materiality of liquid gold. The Fibulae Installation by Marc Fornes in collaboration with Focus Lighting is an illuminated installation that is both artful and eye-catching.
