The Brick House's 'Fence Bench' tutorial introduces a new purpose for weathered wood fences. The blogs curator used an assortment of rotten 4x4" pieces of timber to produce this chunky DIY furniture piece, perfect for kitchens and even tight foyers.
On top of the long cuts of lumber, the Fence Bench also made use of leftover Eames LTR bases. The slabs were mounted on atop the metal foundation which interestingly enough was previously used to support a surfboard table.
Screws, metal straps, teak oil and a sander put the seater together with ease. The sanding and dying processes let on a dark, mahogany finish. As the project incorporates DIY elements however, varying colors can be used to coat the surface.
