Pickleball, rapidly growing in popularity across Canada, now boasts over 1.3 million monthly players. In response to this surge, Fairgrounds Public Racket Club, in partnership with QuadReal Property Group, is set to open new venues to accommodate the growing demand.
The first of these, located at Cloverdale Mall in Etobicoke, opens on February 16th, featuring nine pickleball courts, followed by another venue at Assembly Park in Vaughan later in the month. These clubs aim to make racket sports more accessible by eliminating the traditional barriers of exclusive memberships and high fees, offering play at an hourly rate without membership costs. This initiative not only promotes inclusivity but also supports community engagement in pickleball and padel sports.
To celebrate, a free-to-play weekend will be held at Cloverdale from February 17th-19th, featuring fun activities, coaching sessions, and music by the Fairgrounds resident DJ, with court reservations available online.
