A graduate from the Design Academy Eindhoven, designer Thijmen van der Steen created the Fading Desk unit to make working at home more feasible.
For many people, it is difficult to concentrate with brightly colored distractions and clutter all around you. This unit is a large semi-transparent voile screen that encompasses your desk, giving you the feeling of a cubicle-like environment so you can focus on your work, even at home. The screen has a faded print that graduates from blue to white, muting any colors and light that may distract you.
When you are no longer using the Fading Desk unit, you can fold it up, enclosing it around your desk and computer, and place a lamp within. Then you can enjoy the soft white glow that penetrates through the screen.
