the Hydrofoil Sailing Yacht

The innovative hydrofoil technology has entered the traditional transportation field of yacht sailing. The hydrofoil technology consists of a wing profile that moves underwater, similar to the wings of an airplane. When the yacht speeds over 10 knots the hydrofoil wing produces a lifting force raising the yacht and reducing the displacement and friction of the boat enormously. The yacht can reach up to 30 knots in speed when sailing "above" the waves with it's crew of 2-10 "maritime jet setters".

The eXploruis hydrofoil sailing yacht was the diploma project of Arnold Friedling and recieved the Pininfarina design awards of 2006.
